World Cup 2026: Bosnia and Herzegovina Beat Qatar 3-1 in Seattle
Bosnia Cruise Past Qatar 3-1 at Lumen Field
In their final Group B outing of the World Cup 2026, Bosnia and Herzegovina handled Qatar 3-1 at Lumen Field in Seattle. The match swung on a five-minute window in the first half, and from there Bosnia and Herzegovina managed the game without much fuss.
The result leaves Bosnia and Herzegovina third in Group B on four points, with a goal difference of -1 and five goals scored across three matches. Crucially, that's enough to put them through provisionally: as the fifth-best third-placed side, they currently sit inside the eight that advance to the Round of 32. Qatar, by contrast, finish bottom of the group on a single point with a -8 goal difference, and are eliminated from the group stage.

Three Goals in 13 First-Half Minutes
The opening half hour was quiet, then everything happened at once. In the 29th minute K. Alajbegovic broke the deadlock for Bosnia and Herzegovina, finishing off an I. Basic assist. Five minutes later the cushion grew in unfortunate fashion for Qatar, as M. Abunada turned the ball into his own net to make it 2-0.
Qatar found a way back before the break: in the 42nd minute H. Al Haydos pulled one back, set up by Edmilson Junior, and suddenly it was a 2-1 game heading into halftime. Bosnia and Herzegovina reshuffled at the restart with a double change, and both sides rotated through the second half.
The decisive blow came late. In the 80th minute E. Mahmic restored the two-goal margin from a D. Hadzikadunic assist, making it 3-1. There was a flurry of bookings around that goal, with A. Fathi cautioned for Qatar in the 78th minute and Mahmic himself picking up a yellow shortly after his strike. From there, Bosnia and Herzegovina saw it out.

Right Winner, Wrong Scoreline for the Fans
The futbol.so community leaned toward Bosnia and Herzegovina, so the result matched the gut feeling. The scorelines were a different story, though. The most-picked outcome across the community was a goalless draw, which a 3-1 contest blew right past.
Regional reads were a mixed bag. Fans in Colombia also favoured Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a 1-1 draw as their popular pick, while Argentina's crowd was split and gravitated to a scoreless stalemate. Spain's fans tilted the other way, toward Qatar and a narrow Bosnia and Herzegovina 0-1 result. In the end, the official forecast had it right: Bosnia and Herzegovina 3 - Qatar 1.
- Colombia
- Argentina
- Spain
Official forecast: 3-1

Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 Qatar
No geo restrictionFor Bosnia and Herzegovina, the job is done for now: they've reached the Round of 32 provisionally as one of the best third-placed teams, though that standing can still shift depending on how the other groups shake out. Qatar's tournament ends at the group stage. Next up is the wait to see how the bracket settles before the knockout rounds get underway.
